One of Those Days...

Ever have one of those days where you wake up and by the end of the day...you wonder why this day was ever added to the calender of your life?  You know the day I mean...for me it was yesterday.  I had a test for a job interview and it was a version of computer program that I had not used before, but I thought...I can wing this.  Only it was timed, and when you have less than one minute per question, you really don't have time to troubleshoot.  Needless to say, I scored a hearty 24%, yes, you heard that right, 24%.  For the eternal straight-A student, a bit of a pill to swallow.

I exited the building ready to leave and never look back, only to find a mild gurgling underwater sort of noise where the robust sound of my running engine should have been.  Too much pride to go back inside and say, "Yes, I did score 24% and my car is dead in your parking lot."  I waited in my car for my good friend to arrive and to  provide a jump (silently praying it was the battery and not the alternator).

I arrived at the local AutoZone, where the friendly salesperson changed my battery and then went inside to pay.  My debit card was declined twice.  So...on my credit card it went.  By this time my cell phone read battery dead, so I had to take a little trip to the bank, rather than call.

After three helpful associates and one phone call to someone somewhere trying to determine what the "code" on my card was, they returned to tell me that there was a bank-wide problem with the Visa debit cards, but that it should be fixed by the morning.

And as for me, I couldn't wait for the morning myself...as it meant a brand-new day!

  1. You have the most interesting days! Don't tell me it's the white car that I love and wanted to live in the back because it is so nice and huge and comfy? What test were you taking? I'm a little concerned now since I have a couple of my own to take...

  2. Interesting that on this very day I was having dead battery problems at the very same time in the very same place as you were. It almost seems we were meant to meet in the Auto Zone parking lot.
